Hello, and if I must, good morning.
Hope you’ve got your ‘stumes ready for tomorrow. I’m headed to pick up groceries in a few hours because I will not so much as put even a pinky toe outside today since it’s 30 degrees. I would have died on the Oregon Trail.
We had a great weekend celebrating my son’s first birthday. I was much less frazzled than my daughter’s first birthday because I cooked pretty much
nothing myself this time around. Highly recommend buying cake from the grocery store. I did, however, make microscopic party hats to hot glue on farm animal figurines, so I’m not entirely innocent of outsourcing the party preparations.
See below.
I mean. This is my favorite thing of all time now.
I know you really came here for this kind of content, but perhaps we will get to the menu for the week. Once again, the grocery list is ripe with possibility. And it’s cold, so Cozy Food Only is my main thought.
Halloween is upon us, and somewhere along the way, hot dogs and chili became my Halloween meal of choice. I’m cooking up a big pot of my favorite chili recipe, which will be included below in the paid portion of the newsletter. I won a chili cook-off with this recipe when I was a junior in high school, so not like the stakes were extremely high, but it’s the one I come back to over and over.
I’m happy to have another stretch at home after a few weekends of traveling, and good grief, it’ll practically be Christmas by the time we get around to folding all the laundry. Til then, chili and hot dogs!
Here’s our menu for the week, which will be slightly choose your own adventure.
